Lean Six Sigma Course Prices 2025
Based on our survey of 40+ courses:
Prices for Lean Six Sigma Green Belt were, on average:
- £892 for self-paced courses
- £3,173 for online live courses
- £2,860 for face-to-face courses
Prices for Lean Six Sigma Black Belt were, on average:
- £1,489 for self-paced courses
- £5,718 for online live courses
- £5,050 for face-to-face courses
Self-paced courses are, perhaps obviously, the most inexpensive due to their low cost of delivery.
It's worth noting that the online live average is skewed upwards by one or two courses with uncommonly high fees.
But… Course Fees Aren't The Only Cost!
There are also other significant hidden costs to consider when choosing a certification course, such as:
- Certification renewal costs.
- Fees for software.
- Exam fees and exam retake costs.
- Miscellaneous costs you will incur while studying.

Certification Renewal Costs
More than 20% of courses we surveyed provided a certification that expired after 3 years.
The certificate holder will need to pay more fees, or go through further training or even sit more exams to renew these certifications.

Software Costs
Minitab
Many of the courses require students to install Minitab to complete their practical excerises. A Minitab annual license for a single user starts at £1400.
Minitab offer a free trial for first time users, and this will likely be enough for your period of study. However, this will not cover your continuing Lean Six Sigma practice.
You Don't Need to Pay for Minitab…
To save our students and practitioners £'000s in subscription fees, we designed our courses around the statistical software package JASP.
JASP is a fully featured and 100% free alternative to Minitab used by universities all over the World.
Office Software
You will also need software to view and edit course materials. Free alternatives such as Google Docs, or LibreOffice do exist, but you may need time to become familiar with these.
Certification Exam Fees and Exam Retakes
This is something to consider when enrolling in a course which uses an external certification organisation. Always check course details to see if the course price includes an exam voucher or similar.
Another possible cost is that you may need to retake an exam if you do not pass the first time. Some course providers do include free retakes, or free or discounted retraining as part of their course package.

Miscellaneous Costs (Travel, Accommodation)
It's very likely that you will incur travel and accommodation costs for your Lean Six Sigma certification courses or exams, in particular when attending an in person course.
This will be a significant additional cost and should be factored into your choice of course. These costs are why many are opting for online study.
How we Chose which Courses to Include
We had access to a large amount of certification course information. To include the right data in our survey we used the following selection criteria:
- Courses must be Lean Six Sigma courses.
- It must be possible to study all courses from the UK, in English, remotely or in person.
- Every course must be comprehensive: It must have no prerequisites, or the prerequesite courses must be included in the data (cost, duration, etc).
- Only undiscounted prices must be used.
We selected over 40 Lean Six Sigma courses, chosen in order of their search rank for relevant search keywords in the UK.
Finally, we included data on each of the certification authorities that each provider of the selected courses used as well as some extras.
